GARMENT CARE.

Renting a one-of-one piece only works if you can trust the condition it arrives in — and owners only lend their archives if they trust how their pieces come back. Care is the whole business. Here is exactly what happens to every piece between rentals.

01INSPECTED ON RETURN

Every piece is checked seam-by-seam the day it comes back — closures, linings, embellishments, hardware. Anything that needs attention is flagged before it goes anywhere near the next renter.

02PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED

Cleaning is matched to the garment, not batched: couture and archival pieces go to specialist cleaners who work with delicate silks, vintage dyes, leather, and embellishment. Never coin-op, never rushed.

03FINISHED AND STEAMED

Pieces are hand-finished and steamed, then photographed against their condition record so we know exactly how they left.

04STORED PROPERLY

Between rentals, garments hang in breathable storage — padded hangers, acid-free tissue for structured pieces, boxed accessories. Archival storage practices, because most of this collection is archival.

FOR OWNERS

If your pieces are in the Archive: cleaning after every rental is included and paid by LORYN, every rental is insured, and you can request your piece back (or a condition report) at any time. Damage beyond normal wear is covered by the renter’s deposit — you are never left holding the bill.
